Peter Ahing
For more than two decades, local waterman/photographer Peter Ahing
has spent most of his free time exploring Hawaii’s pristine
ocean – deep sea fishing, kayaking and diving with turtles,
manta rays and sharks. His most inspiring experiences have been
with Hawaii’s beloved annual visitors: the Humpback whales.

In recent years, Ahing has turned his focus – literally – to
capturing these magnificent mammals with his camera. Among Giants:
Photographic Moments with Hawaii’s Humpbacks showcases Ahing’s
collection of 43 original images in an exhibit that he hopes will
enlighten and inspire. The images range up to 4 feet x 6 feet in
size and are available for purchase.

“While enjoying the beauty of Hawaii’s marine environment,
I have been privileged to witness the strength and beauty of Hawaii’s
Humpbacks,” says Ahing. “By sharing these photographic
moments, I hope viewers will further appreciate the continuing
need to protect the habitat of creatures large and small, with
which we share the planet.”
