Moloka`i Hoe

Harry Ng of Honolulu won the Na Wahine O Ke Kai contest by guessing closest to the finishing time of the first place canoe. Mooloolaba Outrigger Canoe Club from Australia was the winning team with a finishing time of 5 hours, 26 minutes and 37 seconds. Harry’s guess was 5 hours, 25 minutes, and 55 seconds. Here he is with Dr. Jenkins, Dr. Omphroy and the LEC staff at the finish line on race day.

Ken Nagamine of Ewa Beach was just one second off, with his guess of 5 hours, 2 minutes and 25 seconds to win the Moloka`i Hoe contest. New Zealand-Hawaii was the first men’s canoe to come in at 5:02:24. Ken just had his LASIK procedure and is 20/15! Here he is with Mary Ann, our patient coordinator.

Congratulations to both Harry and Ken.
We would also like to thank everyone who entered our contests.
