Dr. Jenkins performed the first LASIK procedure in Hawaii and has been actively involved in a national study regarding LASIK results. Dr. Jenkins is one of the most experienced laser refractive surgeons in Hawaii specializing in PRK and LASIK, and has recently been recognized by VISX as one of the top 100 laser surgeons in the country. She also has a special interest in anterior segment surgery, glaucoma, and cataracts. Dr. Jenkins is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Hawaii Medical Association and the Hawaii Ophthalmology Society.

Dr. Omphroy was the first surgeon in Hawaii to perform PRK and is one of the most experienced laser refractive surgeons in the state, performing both PRK and LASIK. He has been recognized by VISX as one of the top 100 laser refractive surgeons in the country. He also specializes in cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. He is a Visiting Professor for ORBIS International, a Fellow of the American Academy of Opthalmology, and a member of the Hawaii Medical Association.

Dr. Ueda has spent her optometry career working in ophthalmology practices specializing in glaucoma, cataract, and refractive surgery. After working at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, Dr. Ueda gained experience in refractive surgery care by working at one of UCLA’s first laser centers. Dr. Ueda moved to Hawaii from Southern California in 1997, and started working at the Laser Eye Center of Hawaii when Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Omphroy performed the first LASIK procedure in Hawaii. She is now Director of Laser Vision Services, where she oversees the clinical department. She also sees patients referred to the Center for pre-operative and post-operative care.

Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Ueda enjoys her lifestyle in Hawaii. An avid Warrior fan, she enjoys attending Warrior sporting events and outdoor activities such as running, hiking, and observing marine life. |
